Katie Dempsey is a promoter of the Natural Arts and small business.  She became a student of social media marketing and web development while staying home with her three young children.  At the same time she reconnected with her spiritual journey and began aggressively studying the science of spirituality and alternative healing.  Determined to find her place in the growing Natural Arts field, she decided to rely on her internet, promotional and business skills to help practitioners do their best for others.  In the following years she has counselled many professionals and healers on how to market themselves effectively online and through groups and workshops.

For many in the Natural Arts, their skill is their product.  Katie explains that in these cases, “their social presence needs to have an edge of self promotion – which is a slightly different beast than advertising”.  These clients may need project galleries, blogs, workshops or small business Facebook Pages.  For some, a video channel on YouTube and training on how to upload weekly video updates is the best option.  “These tools can be out there selling you or your art, product or service, 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week”.   She urges people not to be intimidated by the learning curve.  “I can help walk you through everything from course development to creating online accounts.  I can even speak on behalf of your business at special events and seminars.

“It is so important to actively participate in developing your social and online image – otherwise your reputation is solely in the hands of the internet.”

People often Google themselves without the realization that there is a lot of control they can have over those first page results. The internet can offer so many opportunities to practitioners – its a platform to become recognized professionals in their field. Katie also emphasizes: “A good web plan can create additional opportunities for income, keep you in touch with clients who have drifted off, and entice new ones to call. Ebooks and podcasts can can open up new markets too.”  Whether your scope is large or small, there is a plan that’s right for each person’s needs.
